A Castle on the Florentine Hills
The castle is located 168 meters above sea level on the top of a cone- shaped hill that dominates the Chiantigiana road. It was built in the year 980 for defensive purposes by the powerful Gherardini family and between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries was object of harsh disputes between the factions of the Guelphs and Ghibellines first and then among those even more violent between the White and Black Guelphs. The toponym comes from a contraction of the name “Monte Acuto”.
The oldest nucleus of the castle is the high thirteenth-century tower, still existing in the center of the property, surrounded by a kind of rustic keep, with stone parameter exposed.
The Castle offers various medium/large opportunities of use, both inside and outside. The interiors are frescoed and furnished in style.
The property is surrounded by a romantic park of cypresses and holm oaks that hide it, wanted by Bellucci Mascagni (owners since 1982), with a small chapel outside the first circle of walls, with austere and simple appearance on the outside and decorated inside by a fresco attributed to the school of Giorgio Vasari. The lunette is decorated with a terracotta depicting Santa Lucia, from the school of Luca della Robbia.

Yes, it is possible to perform civil, religious and symbolic ceremonies in our old chapel

Low season: January, February, March, April, November and December (except for Easter, Christmas and New Year’s Eve) and week days all year around (Monday to Friday)

The venue offers 4 big rooms that can accommodate from 40 up to 150 people and 6 open air spaces.
In case of inclement weather conditions is there a covered appropriate space for all guests?
The venue offers covered spaces which are appropriate in case of bad weather for the entire wedding events.
